Den brysomme mannen / The Bothersome Man (2006)

Andreas, un barbat de 40 de ani, se trezeste intr-un oras ciudat fara sa stie cum a ajuns acolo. Barbatului i se ofera o slujba, un apartament, chiar si o nevasta. Dar nu trece mult si Andreas isi da seama ca ceva e in neregula. Incearca sa evadeze din oras, dar nu exista nicio poarta de iesire. Andreas il intalneste pe Hugo, care a gasit o crapatura in zidul pivnitei sale. Din perete se aude o muzica minunata, oare este o poarta catre "lumea cealalta"? Un nou plan de evadare se tese imediat.
Ce mi-a placut: totul ! e printre cele mai bune filme pe care le-am vazut in acest an! scena din toaleta barului e scena cheie a filmului - e singura moment in care unui locuitor al orasului "perfect" i se face rau! momentul in care Andreas isi anunta "sotia" ca o paraseste si reactia ei !

L'enfant (2005)

Pe scurt:
Bruno are 20 de ani si nici o letcaie in buzunar; el locuieste cu iubita lui, Sonia in varsta de 18 ani, in Seraing, un oras saracacios din estul Belgiei. Ei traiesc din ajutorul de somaj al Soniei si din invartelile si gainariile pe care le comite Bruno si gasca lui. Vietile lor se schimba pentru totdeauna atunci cand Sonia da nastere copilului lor, Jimmy. Ea vine acasa dupa nasterea lui Jimmy si afla ca Bruno a subinchiriat apartamentul lor unor necunoscuti. Daca la inceput Bruno promite si incearca sa se tina de cuvant, sa se schimbe si sa devina un tata responsabil, curand isi da seama ca micutul Jimmy reprezinta o noua sursa de venit.
Ce mi-a placut: ideea filmului la inceput... si cam atat.
Ce nu mi-a placut: cam totul... e un film mediocru, chiar nu inteleg cum de a reusit sa ia Palme D'Or in 2005.

Train de Vie (1998)

Pe scurt:
Filmul povesteste istoria absolut deliranta a locuitorilor unui satuc evreiesc din Europa Centrala care in 1941 pun in scena o deportare cu trenul in frunte cu rabinul lor pentru a scapa de armata germana si a evada in Palestina.
Ce mi-a placut: ca intr-o lume intoarsa pe dos de catre razboi, se ajunge sa se dea crezare nebunilor. Interculturalitatea care predomina in tot filmul.
Ce nu mi-a placut: Nota oarecum trista din final.
Citate: "Mordechai: So Shlomo, have you ever been in love? Shlomo: No!!! That would be madness!!"

The Terminal (2004)

Pe scurt:
Terminalul spune povestea lui Viktor Navorski (Tom Hanks) venit din Europa de Est sa viziteze New York- ul. In timpul zborului, in tara sa are loc o lovitura de stat. Viktor aterizeaza la aeroportul John F Kennedy avand un pasaport care nu mai este valabil si ca atare nu are voie sa intre in Statele Unite si trebuie sa traiasca in terminalul aeroportului pana ce razboiul de acasa se va fi terminat.
Ce mi-a placut: modul in care Viktor se foloseste de toate posibilitatile pentru a supravietui in interiorul terminalului. Ca e cu jazz la mijloc ;)
Ce nu mi-a placut: chiar era nevoie de o poveste de dragoste in filmul asta ?
Citate: "I can't ask him what he's doing. I'm supposed to tell him what he's doing. I ask him what he's doing and I'm gonna look like an idiot.", "Officer Torres, my friend say you are stallion."

Time / Shi-Gan (2006)

Pe scurt:
Cel de-al 13-lea film al lui Kim Ki-duk, Time, se deschide cu secvente ce prezinta o femeie in timpul unei operatii de chirurgie plastica.
Imaginile sunt previzibil de groaznice, aratand violenta din spatele unei fete remodelate. Ne-am putea astepta ca o asemenea deschidere sa duca la un film despre obsesia societatii cu frumusetea, populata de eroi narcisisti, gata sa faca orice pentru a fi frumosi, dar de fapt aceasta este o lucrare cu traiectorii mai putin previzibile. Kim Ki-duk este cunoscut prin faptul ca ocazional face aluzii previzibile - The Coast Guard fiind probabil cel mai bun exemplu, dar filmul Time ramane indeajuns de echilibrat incat sa submineze concluziile usoare.
Ce mi-a placut: modul in care el vedea relatia lor, sculpturile de pe insula.
Ce nu mi-a placut: obsesia ei de a fi persoana posesiva.

Little Miss Sunshine (2006)

Pe scurt: Olive, in varsta de sapte ani, are o singura dorinta: sa castige concursul de frumusete Little Miss Sunshine. Insotita de familia ei disfunctionala, Olive porneste intr-o calatorie plina de aventuri spre California. Tatal, Richard, incearca disperat sa-si vanda programul "Calea spre succes in 9 pasi". Mama, Sheryl (Toni Collette), incearca sa puna sub tacere problemele fratelui ei, specialist suicidar in opera lui Proust, de-abia iesit din spital dupa ce a fost concediat de amantul sau.
Ce mi-a placut: scena de pe autostrada cu politistul, discutia dintre fiu si fratele mamei, ironia adusa societatii americane si falselor valori.
Ce nu mi-a placut: incercarea de a crea o familie dezechilibrata dar nu si credibila, faptul ca bunicul-junkie moare.

Azul Oscuro Casi Negro (2006)

Turtles Can Fly (2004)

Thirteen-year-old Kak (Soran Ebrahim) is known as "Satellite" for his installation of dishes and antennae for local villages looking for news of Saddam. He is the dynamic leader of the children in the Kurdish refugee camp at the border of Turkey and Iraq, organizing the dangerous but necessary sweeping and clearing of the minefields. He then arranges trade-ins for the unexploded mines. The industrious Satellite falls for an orphan (Avaz Latif) - a sad-faced girl traveling with her brother Henkov (Hirsh Feyssal), who appears to have the gift of clairvoyance. The siblings are taking care of three-year-old Risa, whose connection to the pair is discovered as harsh truths are unveiled.

Lantana (2001)

Despre complicata poveste a personajelor din Lantana se poate spune ca e o drama psihologica despre cat de mult poate dauna unui cuplu instrainarea, suspiciunea si neincrederea. Este un film care vorbeste cu sinceritate despre greselile pe care le facem, incercarile de a le repara si consecintele pe care le suferim de cele mai multe ori.

Tzameti (2005)

Barfuss (2005)

Nick Keller este oaia neagra a familiei. El pierde slujba dupa slujba. Tatal sau vitreg si fratele sau il considera un ratat. Numai mama sa crede in el. La noul sau loc de munca, intr-o clinica psihiatrica, Nick o impiedica de la sinucidere pe tanara Leila, salvand-o in ultimul moment. Cand Nick pleaca de la clinica, in seara respectiva, ea il urmareste in secret si apare in bucataria lui in toiul noptii in halat si desculta. Nick, care niciodata nu si-a asumat raspunderea pentru cineva niciodata, si Leila, care a crescut complet izolata de lumea de afara, pornesc impreuna intr-o calatorie care le va schimba vietile.

The Boss Of It All (2005)

The owner of an Information Technology firm wants to sell his business for profit. The trouble is that when he started his firm he invented a nonexistent company president to hide behind when unpopular steps needed to be taken. When potential purchasers insist on negotiating with the “Boss” face to face the owner has to hire a failed actor to play the part. The actor suddenly discovers he is a pawn in a game that tests his (lack of) moral fiber.

Shrek 3 (2007)

Red Road (2006)

Severance (2006)

California Dreamin' (2007)

1999, in timpul razboiului din Iugoslavia. Intr-o mica asezare romaneasca, un sef de gara si in acelasi timp mafiot local, opreste un tren NATO cu echipament militar pazit de soldati americani care traverseaza Romania fara acte de transport, dar avand aprobarea verbala a guvernului roman. Sosirea americanilor transforma mica asezare in satul tuturor posibilitatilor. Intre fata sefului de gara care vrea sa plece cu orice pret departe de satul prafuit si un militar american se infiripa o poveste de dragoste. Intre timp, vrand sa-si continue drumul, comandantul fortelor americane organizeaza o revolta locala impotriva sefului de gara. In final, trenul pleaca, lasand satul in plina anarhie.
